I had a wonderful day at YS Falls in Jamaica a couple of days ago. I had gone there before with a group from the church but this time it was just me and hubby. We had a wonderful day.
YS Falls is located in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica.
We parked in the parking lot and then a jitney or tractor will take you to the falls; about 10 minutes ride. The scenery on the ride to the falls is beautiful, you will see animals and nice flowers; trust me you will not be bored.
However, before you get on the jitney you need to buy your tickets. Adults 19 USD and children(3-15) 11 USD. If your group is more than 25 persons you need to make a reservation
You have clean changing rooms and restrooms
You can get light snacks and cool drinks at the restaurants, I believe there were about 2 or 3 restaurants.
Get your Jamaican souvenirs from the gift shop. They have a wide variety of souvenirs to choose from.
Climb the falls or walk along the way; steps are provided. Guides are provided, they will take great pictures for you and keep your cell phones and cameras from getting wet.
Ziplining for the adventurous
There is no shortage of lifeguards. We saw three pools, one that was ice-cold but your body will soon get used to it. Also, this pool is great for grandma, grandpa, and the children; just about anybody can use this pool. Then there are 2 that are side by side; one for swimmers only and the other for anyone. A life jacket is provided but it is not allowed in the pool for swimmers.
Garden and park
YS Falls, Jamaica is an excellent place to have a picnic, I and hubby took a big blanket and spread it out on the lush grass and we did relax. The place is big enough that you can find a little private spot for yourself. Also, we saw someone having a birthday party, while we were there. For instance, a saw an elderly couple just relaxing and reading their newspaper.
YS Falls, Jamaica is a great place for a family outing. There is something for just about everyone to do.
YS Falls, Jamaica opens from 9:30am-3:30pm. They are closed on Mondays and public holidays.
If you love nature then being at ys falls, you will be in your comfort zone, it is so peaceful and beautiful.
Whenever you visit Jamaica to make sure YS Falls, Jamaica is on your bucket list. A lot of the hotels do excursions there, just ask.
All in all me and hubby had a great we went swimming, we ate( we took our own food), relaxed on the grass, took a lot of pictures and enjoyed each other’s company.
Please remember your water shoes but not to worry if you forget it; you can buy one at ys. Have fun.
